Though formally trained in theology, earning a bachelor’s degree in theology, Pastor McCray often speaks of an even greater credential—his B.A. (Born Again) nature. He attributes his ministry’s impact to his deep, personal relationship with God, one in which he continually decreases so that the Lord may increase (John 3:30). His humility defines his leadership, and he remains steadfast in his belief that he is, above all, a servant of God.

Under Pastor McCray’s leadership, Tabernacle of David Missionary Baptist Church has become a pillar of faith in Vallejo, fostering spiritual growth, community outreach, and a commitment to spreading the gospel. His dedication to equipping believers extends beyond the pulpit—he has mentored ministers, nurtured church leaders, and served as a father figure to many in the congregation. His impact is not measured merely in years but in the countless lives he has touched.

Pastor McCray has been happily married to First Lady Beverly McCray for over 50 years. A devoted husband, he is also a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family is a testament to his faith and leadership, standing as a reflection of the love, wisdom, and strength he has imparted both at home and in the church.

Despite his many achievements, Pastor McCray remains a humble man, preferring to let his actions and ministry speak for themselves.
